Maybe it’s been awhile since you have been called for an interview, or you may be in that unhappy minority having been called several times for an interview, but you’re still not where you want to be.

You see, success at getting called for an interview and actually being hired has a lot more to do with understanding the real secrets of job searching and interview techniques– and little to do with sending hundreds of CVs or resumes to hundreds of companies for hundreds of jobs.

Breakthroughs come from going “outside the box” and bringing new, proven strategies back in.

Keep doing what you’ve always done and you can be sure you’ll never get anything different than you’ve already gotten.

Now there is a new comprehensive e-book which replaces all old–fashioned job search strategies.

Imagine how your life would be different if you would only implement all the career search strategies, tactics, and job interview questions discussed in my e-book.

A cover letter is an important piece of the job search puzzle.  Those looking for jobs generally don’t give a second thought to their cover letter.  A quality cover letter can make or break your job search.  In this e-book, you will find great tips for your curriculum vitae and for your cover letter.  What many job seekers don’t realize is that a cover letter can help determine whether your resume even gets read!  If a cover letter is missing or if a cover letter makes a poor impression, your CV won’t get the time of day!  HR Managers and employers are simply too busy to read past a cover letter that is terrible.  Both the cover letter and the resume go straight to the trash if the cover letter isn’t top notch.

Once your cover letter is complete, the battle is only halfway won!  Your CV or resume is of the utmost importance as well.  Professional resume writers can charge a great deal of money!  Why not learn about a quality resume for yourself and save yourself the cost?  Developing a quality resume isn’t challenging.  You will learn from my years of experience what makes an eye-catching resume.  As the person in charge of reviewing resumes and hiring job seekers for positions, I have looked over thousands of resumes.  You can capitalize on my experience and make an impressive resume for yourself!  There are few better things you can do for your job search than to create a quality CV and cover letter.

I will share with you in this e-book……………..

1.       What I was looking for in a resume.

2.       How I selected a resume among hundreds of resumes.

3.       I will offer you the most effective CV and cover letter writing techniques for your employment search and job interview tips and strategies.

4.       What attracted me to a CV, and what pushed me away.

5.       What critical transferable skills you need to include in your resume. The tips here will amaze you, this is your opportunity to tap into my experience.

6.       I am revealing all the secrets and tricks you need to know in order to succeed in your career search.

I will also share with you “Interview Response Tips” – Try these techniques compiled from over a decade of experience as a Human Resources Manager.  You will find them nowhere else, and they are not taught in any school system. I know all the tricks because I set the job interview questions. I have set job interview questions and conducted interviews for Personal Assistants, Clerks, Junior Managers, Middle Managers, COO, CFO and Heads of Departments. After so much time, I know what I am talking about. “I have walked the talk so to speak”.  And I want to help you in your job search!

It’s a struggle to make a good impression if you’re not prepared for job interview questions.  My experience will guide you through job interview questions and help you to garner the confidence you need to land your first dream job fast.  Most people don’t answer job interview questions properly, and so they are never asked in for a second interview or given the job they want.  Job interview questions are not difficult, and the answers to job interview questions can be simple.  As with other things, it is simply a matter of having the right strategies for job interview questions.  As someone with over a decade of Human Resources experience, I know all about job interview questions.  As you will soon learn, I have developed job interview questions for a number of positions.  I have heard great answers and bad ones to job interview questions, and I want to make sure that you always know what to say to job interview questions.  Read on to learn how to give perfect answers to job interview questions!

For reasons of credibility, I think it’s appropriate to briefly tell you about my background, why I wrote this e-book, and for whom.

For 12 years I worked for various organizations as a Human Resources Specialist, HR Manager, and Senior HR Manager. It has been painful to see bright young graduates struggling in selling themselves to their prospective employers. In spite of the fact that many of these youngsters were highly qualified and attended expensive private schools, they lacked knowledge, skills, and preparedness for the jobs they were applying for. This book was written with these graduates in mind. In this e-book I will share with you the secrets and tricks behind interviews – what factors I used in selecting potential candidates, the most common weaknesses I identified about the majority of fresh graduates, and what they need to do to overcome those weaknesses.

Career Trend Tip: Watch Your Back!

Automation is making more and bigger inroads into our career planning.

Not too long ago we reported on the current employer fad of automated interviewing. We pointed out that your next job search phone call may be from an automated system asking you screening questions. The system will try to determine if you are the right kind of candidate for the job. Refer to our website for how to handle this situation.

Looking to the future, it was recently reported that workplace privacy issues will escalate. Some company policies can threaten personal privacy.

For instance, were you aware that some companies have started to use surveillance software? This sophisticated software covertly monitors and record each keystroke an employee makes. This includes individual letters, symbols, and punctuation. The data can be saved in a file or transmitted over a corporate computer network.

Ok. Let’s say in a moment of frustration you put together a stinging letter to your boss whom you feel has wronged you. Then, after reading it over a couple times you rethink your decision. Maybe this isn’t such a smart idea after all. So you delete the whole letter.

Too late.

Every word, every letter, every keystroke has been recorded on your hard drive. Or it’s been sent as an email to a computer system administrator who can retrieve it at their convenience.

What does this all mean to your career planning or job search?

If you’re on the job, beware. Find out what your current organizations policy is on this matter so you can make sure your privacy is protected. In other words, understand the corporate rules and play by them.

If, on the other hand, you are offended by this kind of policy and you see it as an invasion of your privacy you will want to discover the company’s policy before you accept a position with them. It is not at all inappropriate to ask in advance. This is what intelligent, assertive job search is all about.

Going To A Career Fair

Are you interested in applying for a new job or are you looking for a career change? If you are, you are advised to attend career fairs, as they are one of the best places to gather information on who is hiring, what type of jobs are available, and what type of qualifications are needed. In fact, career fairs are also a great way to apply for jobs. While career fairs are nice to attend, they can sometimes be difficult to find. Before outlining exactly how you can go about finding career fairs, it is important that you first know exactly what they are. Career fairs are events that are almost always open to the general public and held in public locations, like shopping malls. Although career fairs can vary, most employer participants set up their own tables or booths. These booths are often accompanied by printed information, brochures, or pictures about the company in question. Each booth is often staffed with a couple of company representatives; representatives who are able to accept applications or resumes, as well as answer any questions that job seekers may have. Now that you know what career fairs are, you may be wondering exactly how you can go about finding them. When it comes to finding a career fair, one of the best things that you can do is keep your eyes and your ears open. For instance, many of the career fairs that are hosted in shopping centers are advertised weeks or sometimes even months in advance. Since career fairs are commonly held in local shopping centers, you are advised to always be on the lookout for any career fair signs or banners. If you are unable to visit your local shopping center or other public establishments, you can always trying calling them once a month or so to see if any career fairs are scheduled for the future. Career fairs are often advertised in local newspapers as well. While information about a career fair may appear in different newspaper sections, it is common to find information about them in the employment section of a newspaper. Although it isn’t as common as newspaper advertisements, many career fairs are also advertised online. If you have access to any local business websites or message boards, you may be able to find information on an upcoming career fair. Community boards are another way that career fair organizers go about advertising their upcoming career fairs. Since most career fairs are planned months in advance, many organizers have the time to go around the neighborhood and hang-up signs. Many career fairs are advertised on college campus community bulletin boards. Businesses where those looking for work are likely to hang out may also have bulletin boards that may have information on available job openings or career fairs. These types of businesses tend to include restaurants or coffee houses. You are also advised to contact your local career center, which is sometimes referred to as a career counseling center. These types of centers are where you should be able to receive assistance with finding a job. Most career centers are staffed with those who are educated on the art of finding, applying for, and landing a job. If you do have a local career center in or around your community, they are often the first ones to know about an upcoming career fair. That is why it is advised that you contact your local career center to ask if they know about any upcoming career fairs. If they do, be sure to get the important information, like when and where. By keeping the above mentioned points in mind, you should be able to find and attend any career fairs that happen in or around your place of residence. For the best chance of success, when attending a career fair, make sure that you bring multiple copies of your resume, dress for success, and be prepared for an onsite interview, because they do occasionally happen.

Six Steps to a Powerful Sales Resume

If you’re considering applying for a pharmaceutical sales job, or any job for that matter, then you certainly need a stellar resume. You see, competition is fierce and your really and truly need to stand out. After all, you only have 15 seconds to impress a potential employer so you’ve got to make every second count. Well, when you have a powerful resume in hand, you can impress and will get hired. A stellar resume causes a potential employer to stand up and take notice. In essence, it says, “Hey check me out—I’ve got what it takes to sell your pharmaceutical products.”

But, how do you create such a phenomenal resume? Well, it really isn’t that hard. Even if you’re no professional resume writer or have never created a resume in your entire life, you can still razzle and dazzle potential employers with your resume writing skills. In this article, we’ll tell you how to craft a great resume that gets you hired. So, put down the job ads and get ready to learn all about the persuasive art of writing great resumes.

1. First of all, you should know what a great resume looks like. To learn, visit your local library or book store and pick up some great resume books and peruse them. See what styles that really “tickle your fancy” and see which ones make you cringe with boredom. Figure out which ones work and which ones don’t. Buy and study them and do your best to emulate the resume writing style.

2. Second, know the difference between a functional and a chronological resume and then decide which one would serve you best. For instance, if you’re making a career change then you might craft up a functional resume that highlights your skills and qualifications. If however you’re staying in the same field, a chronological resume would work best.

3. Third, make sure that your resume reflects your accomplishments and unique personality. Not only will this help you stand out from the competition but will also create an image of professionalism in the hiring manager’s mind. Be careful to accentuate the positive and not the negative. For instance, if you’re currently a homemaker but are trying to get into the sales field, perhaps you can include your volunteer opportunities and how your girl scout troop exceeded sales goals by 100%.

4. Fourth, make sure that your resume is a true representation of you. Don’t embellish your strong points to simply make yourself sound good. Instead be honest but positive and make sure that you. It is never a good idea to misrepresent facts, exaggerate them, or lie on your resumes. Employers are like detectives and when they do background checks, they can find out about your untruths and this could be very bad indeed. Only use verifiable information.

5. Fifth, know that content and presentation is what counts the most. When you’re crafting your new resume, make sure that it looks professional and contains absolutely no typing errors whatsoever. Use quality resume writing paper and try out various styles and fonts to really make it come alive. You might even consider adding a professional photograph to the top for sales resumes.

6. Sixth, remember that grammatical errors are intolerable. They not only signal that you’re sloppy but also signify that you’ll likely do a crappy job as well. And trust me, no employer wants to hire a sloppy worker. To be on the safe side, ask someone else to proof your resume when you’re done proofing it to make sure that you don’t miss any errors.

In conclusion, you can create an outstanding resume that attracts an employer’s attention and helps you land that dream pharmaceutical job of your dreams. You simply have to put forth a little effort, some thought and let those qualifications shine through.

Resume Writing – How To Adapt Your Resume To Your New Career

Changing jobs has to be one of the more difficult decisions a person can make; staying in the work environment we are used to can sometimes be easier than having to embrace uncertainty, and having to prove your professional qualifications and credibility in a new workplace.
The decision for change becomes that much more difficult if the new job you want means changing your career. While you will face a challenge in trying to get the job that meets your new career objectives, writing your resume should not be one of them.
On the Internet alone, there are numerous resources for career changers. From helping you decide which career you are best suited for to providing helpful advice on how to succeed in your new job, you will find an overwhelming amount of resources to help you in your new journey. While most of the information you find will be helpful, be careful about the sources you utilize in order to put together the most persuasive resume for your new career choice.
There are really two basic elements to successfully creating a resume for a career changer: research and transferable skills. Most people put a lot of thought into changing careers. They consider their families, their living and financial situations, their competitive advantage in the new field, etc. After you convince yourself that changing careers is the right thing to do, you will have to convince your potential employers to give you the job you are seeking. To do so, you have to do your research.
Demonstrate to your employer that you have an extensive knowledge of the industry, even if you don’t have the accompanying experience. Before you begin your new career, make sure that you understand what professional paths are available for you, and determine what your ultimate goal is.
This will help you form the career objective for your resume. Additional, make sure to do your research on the company you are interested in, as well as their competition (if you are interested in non-profit organizations, make sure to brush up on other organizations with similar missions); if invited for an interview, you will want to appear very knowledgeable not only about their company, but about the industry as a whole.
You will have to convince your potential employer that you the best person for the job, better than the candidates with experience to do that, you have to showcase not only your enthusiasm for the opportunity, but your eagerness to learn and your knowledge about the field.
Transferable skills, those skills that can be utilized in numerous fields, are also a key to a successful career change. Consider your qualifications to date. What experience have you acquired that can be transferred across industries?
Transferable skills include verbal and written communication, people management, customer relations, organization and project management, development of new processes, generation of new ideas or concepts, etc. Such skills can be adapted to all organizations, and you should utilize them to showcase your qualifications for the job you are seeking.
For example, if you would like to ditch the 9-to-5 desk job for a hectic, unpredictable life of a high school teacher, let your potential employer know that your previous experience in leading by motivation makes you a perfect candidate for the job (even if that marketing project you managed has nothing to do with teaching English composition).
Making a list of all your professional experiences and the qualifications needed for the job you are seeking will help you in determining which skills are transferable to your new career. Once you define your transferable skills, use a functional resume to assure most (if not all) of the qualifications needed for the new job are met in your resume.
In addition to your resume, use your cover letter or email to let your potential employer know why you are changing careers, and that your new interest is not a passing one. Make sure that your resume reflects your newfound interest in a genuine and professional manner, and you are sure to have a successful career change.

How to Make a Successful Career Change

Are you looking to switch jobs or contemplating a career change? This might be the most challenging time in your career life. It is certainly not easy to make a decision when it comes to changing jobs. There are bound to be a lot of apprehensions and doubts in the mind of the person looking to switch jobs. The anxiety about the next job as well as leaving the comfort of the present job is not always easy. However, most surveys indicate that a job change is the most effective step to grow in your career. Therefore, it is commonplace to see people switching jobs in the corporate world. In fact, till last year, the rate of changing jobs was nearly two jobs in three years.

Gone are the days, when people used to wait for linear promotions staying with the same company. Now, professionals want to be in control of their careers looking for promotions and hikes as the demand for their skills increases. This has led to a lot of mobility in the job market. Employers also do not consider job hopping as a sign of disloyalty. In fact, they are ready to absorb talent as soon as they can lay their hands on someone who fits the requirement.

However, one has to be careful, tactful, intelligent and prudent while mulling any job change. To successfully make a career move, one has to weigh all the pros and cons of a job shift. It is good to evaluate clearly why you want to move and what you expect from a job change. Also, other factors such as the market conditions, scope of the industry, company background and compensation raise have to be kept into consideration to make the most out of your job change. This article deals with a few rules of career change to help you achieve the desired success while changing jobs.

Firstly, it is important to have a well-developed and a well-defined plan for making the career change. It would be immature to rush into a career change unless it is properly thought out and a strategy is in place. For this, it is important to take a stock of your current job, the growth opportunities that it offers, the new job and the possibilities related with that job. It is important to see that a job change just for money backfires at times. So, be sure that the profile that you are getting into offers you enough to be satisfied about.

When you start thinking about changing job, it is quite normal to feel insecure or unsure about making a career change. There are many ifs and buts that keep playing on a person’s mind. It is important to be focused here. Just keep in touch with what you really want to do. Once that is clear, it would be much easier for you to pursue the job change. However, you cannot afford to be hasty in matters as delicate as your career. Put in a great deal of time and effort to find about all that is related with this job change. While doing this, it would be helpful if you are clear about your own expectations. That way, you would know, what to do and what not to do.

The reasons for switching jobs could be many, ranging from dissatisfaction or disillusionment with your current job, bad relation with the boss, attitude of the company, or a lack of growth opportunities.

If you are shifting to a job in your own industry, you just have to find about the new company that you wish to join. However, if you wish to get into a new career field altogether, there has to be a proper backing to that idea so that you don’t repent it later. Do your homework and ask yourself repeatedly why you want to leave the present field for a new one. Examine the activities that you like or dislike. Pay more attention to what you like and basis that focus on new careers that center can help you achieve what you like and give you an opportunity to do exactly what you want to do.

You are the best judge of your skills and competencies. Try to leverage what is the best in you by being in recognition of your transferable skills. This way, you would not have to limit yourself to only one field or career, you would be able to experiment with newer fields. To get the best possible job, rely on your networking skills. Get in touch with your friends in the industry and find out about any suitable vacancies. Also, try to look for a mentor who is a few years senior and can give you an objective view of the market and your career position. However, once you have decided to quit, do resign gracefully as you would not want to burn bridges behind you.

How to Change Careers

If you find yourself out of work in a field that is simply not hiring, now may be the perfect time to change careers. Very often, you can obtain employment by restructuring your resume so that it reflects different strengths and attributes. In other cases, you may want to opt for a complete career change to a field that is going to remain stable in years to come. Take the following tips when it comes to changing careers:
Take a look at the outlook for the employment field of your choice
If you have not joined a job network site, now is the time to do so. Here you can see which jobs are hot and pay the best salaries. You will not want to take a job that you will not enjoy just for the money – this is a big mistake. Be sure to choose a career field that appeals to you – one that you will enjoy when you are considering changing careers.
Find out what skills are needed for this career choice
Every type of career requires certain job skills as well as education. There are some career fields that require more training than education and some that you can enter with as little as 6 months training. Take a look at your employment choices and see what you need to do to enter the career field of your choice. Remember that you are changing careers and not furthering your own career. More of an education in the same field is not required. You may need to totally revamp your education.
Consider teaching
One way that you can change careers is to consider teaching. If you have a four year degree and have been laid off from a business job, consider getting a teaching certificate. There are many school districts desperate for qualified teachers. One of the easiest career changes that you can make is to transfer from the private sector to the public by getting a teaching certification. Jobs in this field offer a decent salary as well as benefits.
Acquire the skills
After you have decided what you want to do, start to acquire the skills. If you are still employed, you can opt to take classes to get your training or education in the evenings or online. In some cases, you can work at your own pace to acquire the skills and education that you need to earn a job in the career field of your choice. Many times, you can get the skills and education you need in a short amount of time so that you can embark on your career change.
Build your resume
Once you are ready to go out and seek a job in your new employment field, you can the build your resume that is geared towards this field. Be sure to use all resume building tips that you can to accent your positive attributes and what you can bring to your new employer. You may want to take some resume building tips from a job network board, especially if it has been a long time since you created a resume for yourself.
